Unique Sushi and Sashimi

·         What is sushi and sashimi?

Sushi is raw or cooked meat some veggie slices sometimes fruit, with both a rice and seaweed layering. Sashimi is (plain) raw fish. What makes sushi and sashimi so unique? Well, usually when people are asked what restaurant they want to go to it’s not going to be sushi and/or sashimi. It’s unique because it’s out of the ordinary--“special.” Now let’s go over to where can you find sushi and sashimi?

·         Where can you find sushi and sashimi?

It ranges to where you’re living. Most of the time there will be at least one (restaurant) around somewhere. In other places there are more than one. But, I bet the sushi there is great. A place here in Beaver Dam is Sake House and everything there is amazing. And going to how do most people react to eating raw fish?

·         How do most people react to eating raw fish?

How do people react to eating raw fish? Many people I talk to think that eating raw fish is gross. Plenty of other people think it’s very good and like having it. Raw fish is personally my favorite food in the world. I love it. Now I want to know something. Tell me in the comment box if you like eating sushi and/or sashimi or you don’t. I can’t wait to get some feed-back.

                                   Weekly tip
There are many restaurants all around that I love
So if some of them are by where you live you might want to

I’m so sorry this came out late, I hope you still find it interesting and enjoyable.

My Famous Crostini’s!

A lot of people in my family love a special appetizer I make called crostini’s. Fresh grilled bread with mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, and basil. Fresh healthy produce at a delicious peak.
Some times when I make these I add a couple drops of balsamic vinegar. When you stack the mozza and tomato and basil on the grilled bread it all kind of melts together into the perfect bite. Try out this recipe now or you’ll miss out on all the fun. Enjoy the Poog Network crostini’s!

There are a bunch of different types of breads and toppings you could use, I just favor using mozzarella, tomatoes and basil leaves. I also like using French baguette bread. It’s crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside especially after you grill it.

<Editor's Note:  I apologize but I can't seem to find a picture of Abby's crostini--the picture below is the closest one I could find quickly, and I'll update with a picture of her actual work asap>

WEEKLY TIP

Whenever you are slicing your ingredients taste everything to make sure it is good and you know your flavors. It’s better to throw something away than risk getting sick by eating not healthy ingredients.

My weeknight couscous

A couple nights ago, I came home from a karate class and I was hungry for dinner, and didn't know what to have.  I looked in the refridge for something but I didn't see anything appealing.

Then I glanced over and saw what looked like a perfect amount of couscous sitting on the counter.  So I cooked it up with some parsley and quartered cherry tomatoes.  After that I put it in a bowl...
Just to make it pretty for the photo,  added a fresh basil leaf.  If you decide to try this out you can add your own personal twists.  Enjoy!

Beignets

This is my post about beignets

This is a picture of my beignets

Here is a link to the recipe we used. Beignets are french doughnuts  and they serve them mainly in New Orleans and can have all sorts of dipping sauces. They are a breakfast type of food but you can have it for dessert too. I made them with a homemade chocolate ganache  and wonderful strawberry jam i got from a friend. i highly suggest you try it out and make them yourself and don't forget the powdered sugar.Enjoy the beignets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
