Beignets

This is my post about beignets

This is a picture of my beignets

Here is a link to the recipe we used. Beignets are french doughnuts  and they serve them mainly in New Orleans and can have all sorts of dipping sauces. They are a breakfast type of food but you can have it for dessert too. I made them with a homemade chocolate ganache  and wonderful strawberry jam i got from a friend. i highly suggest you try it out and make them yourself and don't forget the powdered sugar.Enjoy the beignets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. A little tip for you. When I was at The Madison Club, our pastry chef would use a piping bag and pipe the dough into rings on parchment paper, kind of like doughnuts and then freeze them. After frozen, we stored them in zip lock bags until ready to fry.

You don't need to make rings, but it is just a thought if you want to make extra and save them for later!

  3. That is a great idea--the recipe made a lot of dough (7 cups of flour!). We did freeze the extra but it is in bulk.

  4. Also my mom, Lisa, added some ghost chilies to her gnache to make spicy chocolate dipping sauce

  5. Whoa! I don't know if I am that courageous anymore. I have had both raw and dried ghost peppers, and I will do my best to never try them again.
